Minutes of Regular Meeting
March 9th, 2015 7:30 pm
Mayor Steve Sudbrink opened the regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. Roll was called Petefish, Bell, Carson, Clark, Behrends and Cox answered present.Mayor Sudbrink struck the executive session from the agenda tonight. The minutes of the December meeting were presented. Cox moved and Behrends seconded that the minutes be approved as written. Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Velten gave monthly treasurer’s report. He noted that 99% of errors have been corrected. The video game revenue for January payable in February was $1961.70 ($11,337.23). Mr. Velten also gave transfer of funds: General Fund to the Police Fund $ 3,500.00 and General Fund to Police Fund $2,500. Motion was made by Clark and seconded by Behrends that the transfer be approved. Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Velten also had sales tax figures this month $9625.98. The monthly bills were presented. Behrends moved and Clark seconded that they be paid as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
Guests: Dustin Fritsche was present with the annual report for Cass County OEDC. Carolyn Defenbaugh was present and was concerned about the pot holes in front Of Post Office and also the time on the Clock on the square is incorrect.
Public Works (McClure): Snow removal; Cross connection survey letters were sent out and shelves are ready to go in the city hall storage area.
Police Chief (Boris):The new police chief gave an introduction to counsel and guests. Responded to 90 calls, 3 arrests 8 traffic tickets and accepted the resignation of Jeff Smith, part time officer in Virginia. He will be looking for 2 part time officers to hire for Virginia.

Park: (Cox): Meeting Wednesday March 18th at 7 pm at City Hall.
Library (Clark):Met the 17th of February, they will meet the 17th of March and they have an Easter program in the works.
Economic Development (Carson):Next meeting in April
Cemetery (Carson):Met Feb 10th and the Walnut Ridge cleanup is set for March 15th -31st

Clark:Wanted to let city employees know what a good job they did with snow removal.
Carson:Checking with Randy regarding runoff of water behind new addition at St. Luke’s Church.
Bell:No report
Petefish:City did good job on snow removal, brought up issue with cars parked on square during snow emergencies and how city could help take care of issue. Ordinance will be discussed at next meeting.
Clerk’s Report:Checked with police chief and counsel about 2 checks for cashing
Mayor’s Comments:Mayor Sudbrink told Mr. McClure what a good job the city employees did on snow removal. He also had been approached by the Cass County Fair board about a Class S liquor license (beer and wine). Currently the city has 1 Class S liquor license that the Fair uses during the fair. They would like the counsel to add a second license for an event they would like to host in September or October. The Mayor polled the counsel and Petefish, Carson, Clark Behrends and Cox voted Yes and Bell voted No. The Mayor made an appointment with the approval of the counsel filling the zoning officer. Bill Merriman was appointed unanimously. The Mayor also asked the board for the approval of placing Mike Finn on the zoning board. Mike Finn was appointed unanimously.
Unfinished Business: none
New Business: 1st reading of the 2015/2016 budget same as last year and would probably not change. Clark made a motion and Behrends seconded. Motion carried unanimously. Next up was the City/Cemetery agreement changes were noted and a motion was made by Cox and seconded by Bell. Motion carried unanimously. Last on the agenda was Cemetery Budget 15/16 year the board looked over and a motion was made by Bell and seconded by Petefish. Motion carried unanimously.
With nothing further to discuss motion was made by Bell and seconded by Clark to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.
