Unfinished Business

  1. Discussion UTV/ATV Golf Cart Ordinance

Terry Ayres asks if there will be insurance on them? He states he lives one block away from the 125 intersection.  He also added that most of the people that drive the UTVs drive good, but there is a few that should not be driving.  Ayres said he does not want the crossing down by him because he thinks it would be dangerous.  Mayor McClure states the ordinance indicates that they can cross at any intersection in town except for the intersections on the square.  Ayres states he has seen young kids driving them and there are some that pull trailers around.   Ayres asks about seat belts? Wulf states if the manufacturer made them with the seatbelts then they are required to use them.  They are supposed to abide by all traffic laws.  Ayres really doesn’t want them down there by him but there is nothing he can do.  Cox states he understands he has seen what he is talking about before.  Ayres states there is no speed limit sign there either.

With nothing further to discuss, at 7pm, Alderman French made a motion to adjourn the Public Hearing and Alderman Knous seconded.  Motion carried unanimously.
