Regular Meeting Minutes

 

Meeting Called to Order: 7pm

Roll Call:  Martin, Wulf, Knous, and Cox all answered present.  Pratt and Bowman were not present.

Agenda Approval:  Alderman Cox made a motion to approve the agenda and Alderman Knous seconded.  Motion carried unanimously.

Minutes Approval:  Alderman Wulf made a motion to approve the agenda with the addition of “adjourning at 7:15pm” and Alderman Cox seconded.  Motion carried unanimously.

Approval of Monthly Bills:  Alderman Knous made a motion to approve the monthly bills and Alderwoman Martin seconded.  Motion carried unanimously.

Treasurer’s Report

Treasurer Barrett was not able to attend but he did provide the council a treasurer’s report.  Mayor McClure and Alderwoman Martin stated that the budget looks really good.

New Business

  1. Approve 2023 Meeting Dates

The council reviewed the meeting dates.  With nothing further to discuss, Alderman Wulf made a motion to approve the 2023 meeting dates and Alderman Cox seconded.  Motion carried unanimously.

Monthly Reports

Ordinance Officer: Ordinance Officer Large called Mayor McClure and stated she had nothing to report so she is not here this month.

Police Chief: Chief Shumate stated that everything is almost ready, we just are waiting on a few uniforms. He also stated that there is a possibility he will be patrolling by the end of the week.  Chief Shumate stated that Chief Deputy Comisky has been really helping a lot, he rode along with him today so he could show me where things are.  He has offered a lot of help which is greatly appreciated.

Fire Chief: Chief Reynolds stated the fire department responded to: 78N report fire, drove to Chandlerville and couldn’t find it, there was a car fire that pulled into the gas station, and a mutual aid with Chandlerville on the structure fire down there. Chief Reynolds also thanked the council for Xmas money, greatly appreciated.

Zoning Officer: no report

Park Board: Alderman Cox stated that everything is going fine.  The park is closed for the winter but the walking path is still open.

Library Board: no report

Economic Development no report

Cemetery: no report

TIF: no new applications

Attorneys Report

Attorney Veith sent the council a report that is in their packet to review, he was not present.

Aldermanic Reports

Cox: nothing to report

Knous: nothing to report

Wulf: Alderman Wulf mentioned the marked trees that we talked about, have we chosen who will do it? Mayor McClure states no not yet.  He stated there is another tree that needed to be taken down.  We took a couple of bids from people.  Mayor McClure will let him know.

Bowman: not present

Pratt: not present

Martin: Thank you for ordering the street signs.

City Clerks Report

All election ballots have been submitted to the courthouse.

Mayors Report

Mayor McClure stated that Treasurer Barrett mentioned needing committee budgets.  Mayor McClure set up a budget committee meeting for Wednesday of this week.  The Water/Sewer Department will meet at 5pm.  On Thursday, the Streets Committee will meet at 5pm.  On Friday, the Police Committee will meet at 5pm.  On Monday February 16th, the building committee will meet at 5pm.  After all the committees have met, there will be a finance committee meeting.

  1. Approve 2023 Meeting Dates

Martin wants to know about the sidewalk grant.  Mayor stated it’s been turned in, the engineer will have to update us.  They will be coming to a meeting soon.

 

With nothing further to discuss, Alderman Cox made a motion to adjourn at 713pm and Alderwoman Martin seconded.  Motion carried unanimously.
